Our Greco-Roman and female wrestlers will compete for the European Cup

The wrestling tournament for the European Cup will be held in Moscow on 8-10 November, 2013.

According to the regulations, the top six teams according to the results of the European Championship receive the right to compete at the tournament. Azerbaijan will be represented at the tournament for the Cup by our Greco-Roman and female wrestling teams.

Our female wrestlers will leave for Moscow headed by the coaches of the national team Mehman Najafov and Arif Farmanov. The team includes Kamala Aliyeva (48 kg), Arzu Aliyeva (51 kg), Solmaz Hashimzadeh (55 kg), Almaz Ismayilova (59 kg), Alyona Kolesnik (63 kg), Gozal Zutova (67 kg) and Natalia Palamarchuk (72 kg).

Our Greco-Roman wrestling team, headed by the Head Coach Jamshid Kheyrabadi and Coach Seyid Rahmani Fuad, includes Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg), Taleh Mammadov (60 kg), Azad Aliyev (66 kg), Rustam Aliyev (74 kg), Rafig Husseinov (84 kg), Araz Hasanov (96 kg) and Zaur Mehraliyev (120 kg).

International referee Said Guliyev will also represent our country as a judge at the matches.

Female teams from Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Germany, Bulgaria and Azerbaijan and Greco-Roman teams from Russia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Armenian will compete for the Cup.

According to the program the female wrestlers will compete on 8 November, and the Greco-Roman wrestlers on 9 and 10 November.
