CEC-2014 Day 1: 2 gold and 1 bronze medal

The Cadet European Wrestling Championship has started in Samokov, Bulgaria.

The freestyle wrestlers in 42, 50, 58, 69 and 85 kg weight classes competed on the first day of the championship. Our sportsmen completed the first day of the tournament with 2 gold and 1 bronze medals.

Afgan Khashalov in 50 kg category won against his rivals from Bulgaria and Hungary. After a confident victory against his Armenian rival in the semi-final, our wrestler reached the final round, where he competed against the Russian representative. Afgan Khashalov gave no chances to his rival and became the European Champion.

In 69 kg weight class Ravil Babazadeh won against his Georgian and Belarussian rivals, however then lost to the Latvian wrestler in the semifinal. Our sportsman competed against the Macedonian wrestler for the bronze medal. With a victory of 1:7, Ravil Babazadeh became the bronze medalist of the championship.

Our representative in 85 kg weight class Shamil Sadullayev reached the final bout without any obstacles. On the way to the final he won against sportsmen from Belorussia, Germany and Russia. In the final round our wrestler gave no chances to the Hungarian representative and won the gold medal of the championship.
