The European Championship is held in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. On the last day of the tournament sportsmen essayed their powers in Greco-Roman wrestling in 66, 74 and 84 kg categories.

66 kg
1/16 final - Hasan Aliyev - Yaroslav Kardash (BLR) (2:0, 1:0)
1/8 final - Hasan Aliyev - Alexander Maksimovich (SRB) (1:0, 1:0)
1/4 final - Hasan Aliyev - Mikola Savchenko (UKR) (2:0, 5:0)
1/2 final - Hasan Aliyev - Adam Kurak (RUS) (6:0, 0:3, 0:1)
Bronze medal match - Manuchar Tskhdaya (GEO) - Hasan Aliyev (1:1, 2:1, 0:3)

Despite wrestling in a new weight category, the European and World champion Hasan Aliyev started off the championship successfully. In a row he won against his rivals from Belarus, Serbia and Ukraine without giving them a chance to score even one point. He won the first period against his Russian rival in the semifinal by a landslide. However, he could not reach the same result in the following two periods. In the bronze medal match, he won against his rival from Georgia, Manuchar Tskhdaya. Despite the obvious attempts of the referees to favor the Georgian sportsman, HasanAliyev demonstrated a true will of a wrestler and won a bronze medal for the national team.

74 kg
1/16 final - Rafig Huseynov - Packal Eysele (GER) (0:1, 2:3)

84 kg
1/16 final - Saman Tahmasibi - Aleksey Mishin (RUS) (0:1, 0:3)
Repechage - Saman Tahmasibi - Dorin Konstantin Pirvan (ROU) (1:0, 4:1)
Repechage - Saman Tahmasibi - Fisnik Zahiti (SWE) (0:1, 1:0, 1:)
Bronze medal match - Saman Tahmasibi - Nenad Zugaj (CRO) (3:0, 0:1, 0:1)

Having lost his first match against the Russian wrestler Aleksey Mishin, our wrestler joined the repechage matches as his rival reached the final. He won both of the repechages and entered the bronze medal match. Despite a good start against NenadZugaj from Croatia, SamanTahmasibi lost the match and ranked fifth in the European Championship.
