The Baku cadet and junior freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling championship was held at Hovsan Olympic Sports Complex on 20-25 September.
Around 600 wrestlers from clubs, functioning under the AWF representation number 1, as well as from sports societies in Baku and adjacent regions, competed at the tournament.
201 cadet wrestlers participated in the freestyle wrestling tournament. Ilkin Mammadov (42 kg, Azeri SC), Sabutay Amishov (46 kg, ROIL), Orkhan Abbasov (50 kg, Azeri SC), Afgan Khashalov (54 kg, Zenith SS), Zalimkhan Veliyev (58 kg, Zenith SS), Rashad Shamilov (63 kg, Neftchi SHC), Khalid Alizadeh (69 kg, Zenith SS), Aladdin Akhundov (76 kg, Khazri SC), Murad Khaligov (85 kg, Khosrov Jafarov WC) and Igbal Hajizadeh (100 kg, Neftchi SHC) won the title of the champion.
229 wrestlers essayed their powers in the cadet Greco-Roman wrestling tournament. The winners were Zaur Nuriyev (42 kg, Mahsul SS), Seymur Huseinov (46 kg, Jangi WC), Elgun Huseinzadeh (50 kg, Jangi WC), Kanan Veliyev (54 kg, Jangi WC), Namig Ismailzadeh (58 kg, Jangi WC), Ibaret Mammadli (63 kg, MIA SS), Ulvi Ganizadeh (69 kg, Neftchi SHC), Rashad Mustafayev (76 kg, Neftchi SHC), Shamil Chunayev (85 kg, MIA SS) and Javid Feyziyev (100 kg, Pahlavan SC).
The gold medalists of the Azerbaijan junior freestyle wrestling championship were Tofig Sadigli (50 kg, MIA SS), Joshgun Mammadov (55 kg, ROIL), Aghabey Ramazanzadeh (60 kg, CSCA), Elvin Khidirov (66 kg, BPTHS), Elchin Mammadov (74 kg, Neftchi SHC), Elmar Ismailov (84 kg, Gomrukchu SS) and Zaur Mammadli (96 kg, Gomrukchu SS).
Gurban Mammadov (50 kg, Neftchi SHC), Elchin Mammadov (55 kg, Spartacus SS), Murad Bazarov (60 kg, Neftchi SHC), Ruhin Mikayilov (66 kg, Neftchi SHC), Shamistan Guluzadeh (74 kg, Tahsil SS), Eltun Vezirzadeh (84 kg, Spartacus SS), Turman Eyyubov (96 kg, ROIL) and Ali Hasanov (120 kg, Khosrov Jafarov WC) became the champions of Baku in junior Greco-Roman wrestling tournament.
