The 27th International Universiade wrestling matches continue in Kazan, Russia.
According to the program female wrestlers competed in 48, 55, 63 and 72 kg categories on the third day of the tournament.
48 kg
Patimat Bagomedova started competing from 1/8 final. She scored a confident victory against the Brazilian wrestler Graziela Conceicao (7:0). In the next bout, Patimat won against Canada’s Natasha Kramble in great superiority (5:0) and reached the semifinal, where she won against Ukraine’s Maria Livach (4:1) and reached the final. However, the bout against Eri Tosaka of Japan was unlucky for our wrestler and Patimat became the silver medalist of the tournament.
55 kg
Yarina Dubovska joined the competition from 1/8 final and won against Moldova’s Mariana Esanu in great superiority (5:0). However, she lost her next match against the Mongolian wrestler Orkhon Purevdorj.
63 kg
Irina Netreba won against Turkey’s Hafize Shahin in great superiority (8:0) in the 1/8 final, but lost her next bout to Mongolia’s Battsetseg Soronzonbold. Nevertheless, Irina received a second life through a repechage, once her Mongolian rival reached the final. This time, Irina Netreba scored a brilliant victory against Lithuania’s Gidre Blekait (8:0). She competed against Japan’s Rio Vatari in the bronze medal match and reached the podium as a medalist after a hard match against her Japanese rival (6:6).
72 kg
Gozal Zutova joined the tournament from ¼ final and defeated the Kazakh wrestler Elmira Sizdikova in great superiority (5:0). She then lost to Russia’s Yekaterina Bukina in the semifinals. She qualified for the bronze match, however lost to Canada’s Erica Wiebe and ranked fifth in the Universiade.
We would like to remind that our freestyle wrestlers competed the first two days of the tournament and won 1 silver and 1 bronze medals for the team.
