The Final “Golden Grand Prix” international wrestling tournament, dedicated to the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, was held on 25-27 July 2014 in Baku. Around 400 sportsmen from 35 countries competed at the tournament. At the same time the President of International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) and Bureau Members also paid a visit to our country.
It was Nenad Lalovic’s first visit to Azerbaijan as the FILA President and upon returning he sent a thank-you letter to the president of Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, Mr. Fazil Mammadov.
The letter reads:
‘Dear Mr. Mammadov,
I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the great attention and hospitality you showed during the Golden Grand Prix tournament, organized in Baku.
I was amazed with the high level organization of the Golden Grand Prix tournament and the results of the Azerbaijani wrestlers. I would like to cordially congratulate you on successful conclusion of this sports event.
