JWC-2014: Freestyle wrestlers won 1 silver and 1 bronze medal / PHOTO-VIDEO

The Junior World Wrestling Championship continues in Zagreb, Croatia.

The freestyle wrestlers in 50, 60, 74 and 96 kg weight classes joined the competition on the fifth day of the championship. Our wrestlers completed the day with 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.

In 60 kg category Vurghun Aliyev lost his first bout to the sportsman from the USA, however he received second chance to fight in the repechages as his rival reached the final round. He consequently won against wrestlers from Japan and Georgia and fought for the bronze medal. He then scored a confident victory against the Belarussian representative in the decisive bout and thus VurghunAliyev became the bronze medalist of the World Championship.

Our representative in 74 kg weight class Mohammedhaji Mukhutov reached the final confidently. He consequently won against sportsmen from New Zealand, Switzerland and Belarus and managed to score a victory against the Iranian wrestler in the semifinal. He then had to wrestle against the French representative in the final. However the intense bout did not end in the favor of our wrestler and he became the owner of the silver medal.
