The World Cadet Wrestling Championship has finished in Zrenjanin, Serbia. The freestyle wrestlers in 46, 54, 63, 76 and 100 kg categories competed on the last day of the championship. Our wrestlers won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals on the sixth day of the championship.

Having won 1 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals overall, our freestyle wrestlers came in second in the World Championship with 66 points. The Russian team ranked first (85 points) and the Iranian wrestlers (56 points) won the third place.

46 kg
Fazil Hasanov
joined the tournament in 1/8 final and on the way to the final won against sportsmen from South Africa (7:0), Turkey (7:0) and Japan (8:5). However, having lost to the Kazakh wrestler in the gold medal match, FazilHasanov completed the tournament with a silver medal.

54 kg
Nematdin Rahmanov
won his first match against the wrestler from the US (10:4), however then lost to the Moldovan sportsman (4:9) and completed the tournament without a medal.

63 kg
Teymur Mammadov
won the 1/16 final match against the Latvian representative (8:0), but then lost to the wrestler from the USA (1:2). As his rival reached the final, our wrestler gained another chance to participate in the repechage matches. Having won against sportsmen from Kyrgyzstan (8:0) and Moldova (7:0), Teymur then scored a victory against the Indian representative (2:1) in the decisive match and became the bronze medalist of the championship.

76 kg
Mohammedrasul Gazimohammedov
won against wrestlers from Lithuania (6:0) and Kyrgyzstan (8:0), but then lost to the Iranian sportsman and completed the day without a medal.

100 kg
Turkhan Gurbanov
could beat the wrestlers from Poland (7:0), Japan (5:4) and Hungary (7:0), but could not repeat his success against the Iranian sportsman (1:5) in the semifinal. He scored a victory against the Turkish representative in the bronze medal match and ranked third in the world championship.
