JWC-2013 fourth day: Ragnetta and Sabira won bronze medals / PHOTO

Junior World Championship continues in Sofia, Bulgaria. The female wrestlers in 48, 55, 63 and 72 kg categories competed on the fourth day of the championship.

48 kg
Kamala Aliyeva started off from 1/16 final and beat Korea’s Ju Yong Cheon (8:0). However, our wrestler then lost to USA’s Cody Mae Pfau in the 1/8 final.

55 kg
Almaz Ismayilova joined the tournament from 1/8 final, however she lost the tight match against China’s Mengyu Xie.

63 kg
In 1/8 final Ragnetta Gurbanzadeh scored a victory against Romania’s Laura Gavriliuc (11:6). Having won ¼ final as well against Kazakhstan’s Yekaterina Larionova, our wrestler reached the semifinal. This time Ragnetta Gurbanzadeh lost to the Russian wrestler Svetlana Lipatova (2:3). She then scored a brilliant victory against China’s Kuanya Man (7:0) and became the bronze medalist of the championship.

72 kg
In the 1/8 final Sabira Aliyeva won against the Hungarian wrestler Zsanet Nemeth (8:1). In the ¼ final our wrestler scored a brilliant victory against the Serbian sportswoman Una Svetlana Tuba (7:0). However, after a very tense match in the semifinal, Sabira Aliyeva lost to Japan’s Rino Abe. In the decisive match for the bronze medal our wrestler scored a victory by fall against Ukraine’s Veronica Pavlyuk (5:0).

Thus, female wrestling matches finished at the championship. The members of our team completed the championship with 2 bronze medals.
