Greco-roman wrestlers gained silver and freestyle wrestlers become bronze medalist / PHOTO

On 28-30 June of 2017 3rd cadet freestyle and Greco-roman wrestling international tournament Imam Yadigar Cup was held in Gum and Chabahar cities of Islamic Republic of Iran. 

On the team competitions tournament attended members of the both national teams.

Greco-roman wrestlers become runners up and freestyle wrestlers gained bronze medal.

On the Greco-roman tournament taking place in Gum city 18 teams competed in 4 groups. Our team competing in D group with Irag (10-0), Tadjikistan (8-2) and Serbia (10-0) gained wins in all meetings. As a group leader our team progressed the semifinal where in tense fight won 6-4 Turkish team and reached the final. In the decisive match against main team of Iran our team lost 3-7 and completed competitions as a runner up.

Under the supervision of the senior coach Bahram Murvatov and coach Fuad Aliyev the following athletes represented our country at the tournament: Gurban Gurbanov (42 kg), Hasrat Jafarov (46 kg), Zaur Aliyev (50 kg), Asgar Alizade (54 kg), Hasan Mammadli (58 kg), Vafadar Jafarov (63 kg), Asim Imanzade (69 kg), Fikret Valiyev (76 kg), Bahruz Haziyev (85 kg) and Sarkhan Mammadov (100 kg).

At the tournament taking place in Chabahar city competed 16 teams. Our team lead a fight in group B with teams Iran (9-1), Hungary (9-1) and Iraq (10-0) as a group leader reached the semifinal. Loosing in the semifinal to Russian team 3-7 our wrestlers got a right on bronze medal match. In the decisive meeting our wrestlers beat 6-4 another Iranian team and completed competitions with bronze medal.

Under the supervision of the coaches Vahid Mammadov and Yashar Aliyev sport honour of our country defended Kanan Heybatov (42 kg), Ashraf Karimzade (46 kg), Mahir Mammadzade (50 kg), Ramiz Hasanov (54 kg), Asgar Mammadaliyev (58 kg), Gadjimurad Gadjiyev (63 kg), Davud Ibrahimov (69 kg), Abdulmuslim Mammadov (76 kg), Sanan Alizade (85 kg) and Hamlet Nasibli (100 kg).

In referee board our country was represented with the international category referee Kamran Aliyev.
