EC-2013 third day: Patimat Bagomedova became the European Champion / PHOTO-VIDEO

The European Junior Wrestling Championship continues in Skopje, Macedonia.

Junior female wrestlers in 44, 51, 59 and 67 kg categories joined the tournament on the third day of the championship. Our junior girls finished the day with 1 gold medal.

44 kg
Sahila Alakbarova
competed against the Russian representative Svetlana Yefimova in her first match. The intense match was not successful for Sahila (6:5) and she had to leave the tournament early.

51 kg
Patimat Bagomedova
joined the competition from ¼ final. Having won over the Polish representative Paula Kozlov (6:0), our wrestler competed against the Ukrainian sportswoman Lilia Horishna in the semifinal. Patimat Bagomedova reached the final by scoring a victory 7:1. Easily winning against the Russian representative Stalvira Orshush (7:0) in the final, our wrestler became the European Champion.

59 kg
In her first match Alena Kolesnik won against the Italian wrestler Karola Rainero (8:0). However, she lost to the Finish wrestler Petra Maarit Olli in the second round. She received another chance to win the bronze medal as her rival reached the final, however Alena could not take advantage of this chance, even if she joined the repechage match.

67 kg
Ragnetta Gurbanzadeh
’s first rival was the Turkish sportswoman Kiymet Kochyighit. Having scored a victory 10:2, she passed to the next round. Ragnetta then won over the Austrian representative Martina Kuenz (6:1) in the quarterfinal and reached the semifinal. This time, her competition was the Russian wrestler Svetlana Lipatova. After a very intense match, her rival won (3:1). In the bronze medal match Ragnetta Gurbanzadeh lost to the Bulgarian wrestler Dzanan FilipovaManalova and finished the championship in the fifth place.
