The Cadet European Wrestling Championship, held in Bar, Montenegro, has finished. The Greco-Roman wrestling team of Azerbaijan, which competed the last two days of the championship, has returned home.
The members of the team were met by fans, media representatives and officials from Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation at Heydar Aliyev international airport.
Senior Coach of the cadet Greco-Roman wrestling team, Nuraddin Rajabov, shared his impressions about the championship with the media:
“It was a very tense championship. Like always, we had prepared well this year as well. Last year we won the third place. This year our goal was to improve our results and become the champions. Even if we could not become the champions according to team results, we ranked second. We had prepared very hard. Our wrestlers performed well, however there were certain shortcomings, which we will eliminate before the World Championship.”
We would like to remind that our cadet Greco-Roman wrestlers won 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals and won the second place at the European Championship with 61 points. Russia (69 points) ranked first, Armenian team (54 points) second.
